Air box 3D printed in PA-CF for a rally engine
180 km/h, over 90 °C under the bonnet, vibration and gravel: the air box of a rally car, printed in carbon-fibre-reinforced polyamide.

Welcome to hell: the engine bay of a rally car.
180 km/h, over 90 °C under the bonnet, constant vibration, dust and gravel: that is daily life for the air box we 3D printed.
We printed this part in PA-CF, a carbon-fibre-reinforced polyamide that ticks every box.
Heat resistance
The part stays stable even right next to the engine block.
Stiffness
The carbon fibres limit deformation under mechanical load.
Light weight
A significant saving in mass compared with a machined or sheet-metal solution.
Resistance to hydrocarbons
An essential property in an engine environment.
3D printing now makes it possible to design bespoke technical parts, optimised and quick to produce: a real advantage in motorsport, where every gram counts.
